Window Tint Darkness
The level of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission (VLT), which indicates what percentage of sunlight passes through the film. For example, a 70% VLT means 70% of visible light enters your vehicle, while the remaining 30% is filtered out. With modern tints, even darker shades can maintain crisp, clear views both day and night.
A tint with a 30% VLT lets 30% of visible light in—so the lower the percentage, the darker the tint.
For reference, most OEM is a 15% tint, while what’s commonly referred to as “Limo-tint” is 5%.
